Cultivated in the land of Picciorana (Lu), the Malato takes its name, because of its yellowish color, from an ancient saying: «what an ugly color you have, you look sick!».
A bean suitable for all uses, due to its thin skin, it is very pleasant boiled and seasoned with extra virgin olive oil. I recommend using it as a base for vegetable broths in which all its aromaticity stands out.
